A hyper-focused overhaul to bring an outdated set of products and processes up to WCAG AA accessibility standards

OVERVIEW

Meetup is a global social platform that helps bring people together over similar interests. The platform allows users to create groups and events to help bring communities together. In 2019, Meetup received feedback on their accessibility practices as they were trying to garner contracts from enterprise customers who required more compliant partners.

Meetup approached Bloom to help audit their current products and processes and overhaul them to be AA accessible. Over 6 months we worked with them to audit their platforms, implement solutions and help their internal teams create new workflows around accessibility.

The accessibility work we did proved our value and capabilities as a partner and led to a larger design mandate with the company until it was acquired by Bending Spoons in 2021.
