INDIEGOGO

A member of the internet’s old guard in search of a visual refresh and new energy in their crowdfunding products

OVERVIEW

Founded in 2008 out of the desire to see more creative ideas come to life and to have more control over that process, Indiegogo was a true internet tech pioneer, especially so in the crowdfunding space. In recent times, the company and brand has stagnated, seeing Kickstarter over take them as a household name and with more players entering the field.

Indiegogo hired Bloom as their premier design partner, and as their agency of record, we worked alongside their product and engineering teams to create and execute against their roadmap. We had a chance to update their payflow, introduce volume discounts, implement an -ecommerce strategy via an online store called the IndieShop, refresh their brand identity across core web surfaces and work to explore improvements around their creator tools.

ROLE

Sole lead designer on the team working closely with product and engineering teams

Part of Indiegogo’s brand refresh was redesigning and updating core surfaces on their website, like the home, explore, campaign and creator landing pages

We worked on updating Indiegogo’s payflow, by implementing smaller conversion plays and larger concepts like pay over time and cart-based volume discounts, configurable by the creators.

As Indiegogo looked to expand beyond their core crowdfunding offering, the team implemented a minimal e-commerce solution. Phase 1 would start with a collection and product pages and later on expand to full-fledged storefronts for creators.

Creator tools were always an area the team wanted to spend time improving but never did. We explored a category-specific quick launch wizard and builder for film campaignss
